Pi and the Religous Leaders

Walking down the street you see many different people, some are of different ethnic backgrounds, and others look just like you. Each person however is different in many way, from the religion they practice down to what size shoe they wear. Religion is said to be a free form of thought or expression of a person, from Muslim, to Hindu, even Christianity, people express themselves in how the feel is appropriate. These communities claim that they are brother and sister to all other religions. However, if this statement was true than other religions shouldn't have a problem with one of their believers practicing a different religion.
Pi uses this knowledge and realizes that he believes in God so much that he want to know all of the different "forms" that he takes. "Bapu Gandhi said, 'All religions are true.' I just want to love God." (69) This was Pi trying to defend himself from the religious leaders and there constant hypocritical view of Pi. Fighting against this was hard, but Pi knew he must defend God no matter what the people thought of him, Pi just wanted to show his constant and undaunted love for God. He is strong in faith and spirit, and restless in his pursuit Pi knows what he wants to do and sets of in his quest to achieve it.
