The Good Earth Comprehension

Wang Lung’s uncle is a dirty, greedy, man. After Wang finally had a little bit of his money, all the uncle wanted was to get his hands a hold of it. This happens in today’s world to. After someone has won the lottery, family members often use the guilt trip, and try to get money. That is exactly what Wang had happen to him from his uncle. Disgust is barely the proper word in order to describe the way one might feel about this uncle.
Having an uncle who takes everything is hard, but sometimes moving to a new city proves to be even harder. For Wang and his family life was still not easy, and Wang was at the disadvantage of being unable to care for his land. Even with a negative life was better, because everyone’s stomachs were full, and starvation wasn’t present. Day life for Wang was still difficult, having to push cart with people in them, proving to weigh more than any plow he had ever pulled. Begging became a way of life for them at the moment, which was an unfamiliar concept to Wang. Even though the city proved not to be a bountiful place, for Wang’s family it is all they needed, because everyone was alive.

  1. I just have a few comments for you. First of all, I really like in the begining the relation to text evidence. It helped me realize the events more clearly. I'm not quite sure what else to say as far as criticism, so just keep trying to do better than the last time.

  2. I like this response for the way you used some application in the first paragraph. Also you get into text evidence which helps the second paragraph. I wish the first paragraph went into more detail, spending time exploring more of the actual behaviors from the uncle to site your contempt, and also extrapolate what you think Buck is trying to say about people.
